- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow across all departments.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and maintain high standards of care.
- Manage inventory, equipment, and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards.
- Manage and optimize the hospital's scheduling for all departments.
- Facilities Management includes preventative maintenance, supply & equipment maintenance, overall maintenance of repair activities, space planning & optimization
- Manage the facility's aesthetics and cleanliness
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the hospital budget.
- Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable.
- Analyze financial reports and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Human Resources Management:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment.
- Manage employee scheduling and ensure adequate staffing levels 24/7.
- Resolve employee conflicts.
- Client Relations:
- Ensure exceptional client service and address client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Handle client complaints and resolve them effectively.
- Marketing and Referring Veterinarian Relationships:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the hospital's services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians.
- Organize and participate in outreach events and continuing education programs for referring veterinarians.
- Act as a liaison between referring veterinarians and specialty doctors.
- Track referring veterinarian data, and adapt outreach strategies to maximize referring patient volume.
- Strategic Planning:
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans to achieve hospital goals.
- Identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary practice management, preferably in an emergency or specialty setting.
- An LVT or RVT with 5 plus years of practice management experience may also apply.
- Proven track record of success in managing a fast-paced, high-volume practice.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting and financial analysis.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with marketing and building relationships with referring Doctors.
- Proficiency in veterinary practice management software
- Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 environment.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology
